Charter Standard
Manchester City Ladies have recently been
awarded the Charter Standard Youth & Adult Club
awards by the FA.
The Charter Standard Club Scheme was launched
by the FA in February 2001 after it was
recognised that there was a need to improve the
standards of provision within clubs. The scheme
provides recognition to those clubs who

Standard Adult Club - introduced 2003
All Charter Standard Clubs are required to meet
FA criteria, ensuring they provide opportunities
for players irrespective of age, gender,
religion and ability. Clubs must also provide
qualified coaches, first aiders and child
protection officers
Manchester City Ladies were the first club to
achieve the adult award and the first all female
club to achieve the Youth club award. Currently
there are only 4 adult clubs and 20 youth clubs
affiliated to Manchester that have achieved
Charter Standard status.
