Charter Standard

Manchester City Ladies have recently been awarded the Charter Standard Youth & Adult Club awards by the FA.

The Charter Standard Club Scheme was launched by the FA in February 2001 after it was recognised that there was a need to improve the standards of provision within clubs. The scheme provides recognition to those clubs who demonstrate

  • Required Standards

  • Raising Standards

  • Reaching Excellence

There are 4 Charter Standard Club Awards

  • Charter Standard Youth Club

  • Charter Standard Development Club

  • Charter Standard Community Club

  • Charter Standard Adult Club - introduced 2003

All Charter Standard Clubs are required to meet FA criteria, ensuring they provide opportunities for players irrespective of age, gender, religion and ability. Clubs must also provide qualified coaches, first aiders and child protection officers

Manchester City Ladies were the first club to achieve the adult award and the first all female club to achieve the Youth club award. Currently there are only 4 adult clubs and 20 youth clubs affiliated to Manchester that have achieved Charter Standard status.
